Coconuts pool in Sanibel Island

A Little About Coconuts

Coconuts Pool Bar and Grill is a destination all on its own. A fantastic lunch, great sunny views of the beach, and a poolside ambiance help make Coconuts a must-stop attraction.

Coconuts is located at 2255 Gulf Dr. inside the Casa Ybel Resort. It is a family-friendly grill, with its own kids menu (though we won’t blame you for leaving the kids at home!). Coconuts boasts an impressive specialty cocktail list and a wide selection of local and world wine to help you let loose and get in the vacation spirit.

After you knock back a drink (or before, it’s up to you!) you can take a dip in the pool. The pool sits right in line of the bar with two main areas- a shallower wading end and a deeper area, though diving is not permitted. Lounge chairs and tall beach chairs are available around the pool deck. Palm trees float over the entire space, giving it that beloved ambiance you can only get in the sunshine state.

Hours vary. We recommend contacting the Casa Ybel Resort directly at 800-276-4753 for up-to-date hours of operation.

Tacos at Coconuts in Sanibel Island

A Meal at Coconuts

As part of the Casa Ybel Resort, you can take advantage of the resort vibes and connected restaurant. Food to Coconuts is supplied from the Thistle Lodge. You order at the bar and the food is supplied to you wherever you happen to be hanging out.

The menu includes a number of Florida beachside lunch staples, such as seafood wraps, chicken sandwiches, burgers, and baskets of fried shrimp. The tuna tacos come highly recommended. Vegetarians can also order the veggie burger. Fortunately, kids can find something to enjoy between the hot dogs and french fries (and maybe you can complement it with a fruit cup).

Drinks

Who loves a good Florida drink?

The most famous is the Mermaid Water- a mix of Wicked Dolphin Spiced Rum, Coconut Rum, and Pineapple Juice. We love it. Bartenders love it. It’s essential for anyone seeking a fun and fruity cocktail.

There are also non-alcohol smoothies available, like the mango sorbet. It is a great way for the kids to join in the bright-colored fun.

Coconuts is currently offering takeout and other accommodations for the foreseeable future. Tables are set six feet apart and disposable menus are being used. Sanitation is completed after each guest visit. Coconuts encourages patience during these times.

Ultimately, the resort restaurant is famous for its large pool and its huge fruity Florida drinks. Coconuts is, quite frankly, a cool place to spend an afternoon or evening. Sanibel, Florida has so many fascinating things to offer. Don’t miss out on any of the quiet nooks of the island to see all its hidden secrets!
