The Doc Ford’s Rum Bar is one of the most popular seafood restaurants in the area. It prides itself on being, and always being, a family-run establishment. Those who work at The Doc Ford’s Rum Bar want to make you feel like family while you are dining with them. With their sports bar-like environment, the bar prides itself on elevating the experience by serving gourmet finger foods and pub classics in a friendly sports atmosphere. 

There are four The Doc Ford’s Rum Bar locations in total. The current incarnations of the restaurants were founded by light tackle fishing guide Randy White. He brought fish to the restaurant and, after building some rapport and some confidence, thought to make an offer. White loves the symmetry of having provided local fish for years to a restaurant he now owns!

Menu

The Doc Ford’s Rum Bar menu has something for everyone, and provides all sorts of flavors found all over the Caribbean. The owners and team consistently reinvent their menu in unique and interesting ways. Are there particular ingredients that are in season? Doc Ford’s Rum Bar will find a way to incorporate that into their seasonal menu. 

There are numerous seafood options including Shrimp Scampi Flatbread, captive crab cakes, buffalo shrimp, and more. The signature option is their seared tuna appetizer, served with chilled rice noodles that have been tossed with crispy Asian veggies, fresh herbs, and a Thai peanut vinaigrette. They top it off with a sweet soy drizzle and wasabi coulis. 

Looking for something different, guests can explore the raw bar option. It features an assortment of seafood goodies. Dinkin’s Bay Boil Shrimp steamed peel and eat shrimp dressed in real butter, old bay spices and fresh lime juice top the list. They also have fresh oysters on the half shell that are shucked to order and served with their signature cocktail sauce.

For Entrees, The Doc Ford’s Rum Bar has a wide variety of options that fit anyone’s taste. They have a wide variety of baby back ribs if you are feeling some barbecue, and a classic dry-rubbed ribeye if you are looking for a steakhouse feel. 

A new favorite amongst locals is the panko-crusted grouper served on a bed of brown rice. It includes julienne vegetables, spinach and mushrooms. To top it off, it is drizzled in a honey papaya rum sauce. Looking for something for the kids? The Doc Ford’s Rum Bar has something for everyone in the family to make sure that everyone has a great dining experience. The menu is rounded out with hot dogs, pasta dishes, and fried shrimp.
