Sanibel and Captiva Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center

Ranked #1 by Trip Advisor, the Sanibel and Captiva Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center provides extensive information about things to do on Sanibel. Visit their website, or if you’re already on the island, stop by and get information about Sanibel Island restaurants, shopping at the Sanibel Island outlest, beaches, rentals, cruises, eco-tours, Sanibel Island hiking, and more.

The Visitor Center is open every day of the year. There, you’ll find hundreds of free brochures covering island attractions, a “this week” guide discussing upcoming events taking place, kiosks with free online access, complimentary telephone books, discount coupons for island establishments, and free WiFi and telephones.

You can also get a free 118-page visitor guide, giving advice about the best beaches for shelling, top resorts and vacation condo rentals, and lists of fun things to do (everything from bird watching to snorkeling).

If you can’t find information about Sanibel Island events, activities, and amenities at the Sanibel and Captiva Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, then you won’t find it anywhere!

Sanibel Public Library

At Sanibel Public Library, you’ll find access to newspapers and magazines that could contain details about current and upcoming area events and happenings. The library opens at 9 a.m. Monday through Saturday. They close at 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays and at 5 p.m. every other day.

The library also offers current exhibits that might be of interest to island visitors; on display might be sand sculptures, local plants, bird photographs, paintings by local artists, and shell collections. You could also find information about a self-guided historic tour of Sanibel Island.

The library is open Monday – Saturday, closing at 1 p.m. on Saturdays and open until 5 p.m. on weekdays.
